Rhonda Elizabeth Alford

Rhonda Elizabeth Alford, 56, a resident of Harperville, MS passed away at Lackey Memorial Hospital on April 8th, 2024. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 11th from 11am-1pm, with a graveside service immediately following in Harperville Cemetery.

Ms. Alford was born on October 17, 1967 to Ruby May Sanford and Buddy Sanford in Laurel, MS. She was a kind soul who would help anyone at anytime, loved spending time with her grandchildren, and enjoyed growing beautiful flowers. She was a collector of trinkets and whatnots, and would never turn down a trip to Sonic. In her free time, she would often be found sitting on her front porch and listening to her police scanner. She was a light in the community, and was near and dear to anyone that met her. 

She is preceded in death by her father, Buddy Sanford; Maternal grandparents, Herman and Ruby May; and paternal grandparents, T.O. and Stella Sanford. 

Ms. Alford leaves behind her mother, Ruby Sanford; one son, Tony Alford (Lauren); two brothers: Dell Sanford and Tony Sanford (Pam); a niece, Alexis Sanford; cousins Larry Daniel May (Heather); a special aunt, Shirley Watkins; three grandchildren: Dru Humphries, Braiden Humphries, and Lily Alford; and her two best friends: Marie Elmore and Tina Weeks.
