Rex Lanier Grantham, a beloved father, grandfather, and cherished member of his community, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2026, in Brandon, Mississippi, surrounded by his loving children. Born on August 16, 1964, in Lexington, Mississippi, Rex lived a life marked by dedication, hard work, and a love for the simple pleasures that brought joy to his days.
A self-employed professional, Rex spent many years working in mobile home maintenance, diligently applying his skills with a commitment that earned him respect from clients and peers alike. Though his career was his craft, it was the moments outside work that painted the fuller picture of the man he was. In his younger days, he found great enjoyment in hunting and enjoyed standing on a pond bank fishing were activities that connected him deeply with nature and offered opportunities for reflection and adventure. Camping trips, watching western movies, and savoring a good pot of coffee were among the pastimes that Rex held dear, emblematic of a life that embraced both relaxation and rugged enjoyment.
Rex's familial bonds were profound and enduring. He was a devoted father to his four children: Bridget Grantham of Morton; Brandon Grantham and Bryan Grantham, both of Pearl; and Jonathan Grantham, who resides in Brandon with his wife Adrienne. His legacy is beautifully carried forward by his fourteen grandchildren—Jaelon, Seth, Tagan, Ayden, Bailey, Skylar, Ragan, Kayson, Chloe, Addison, Parker, Brycen, Brooklyn, and Lincoln—each of whom brought immense joy and pride into his life.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Joy B. Grantham and Dorothy Williams Grantham, and his siblings, Terry Mason, Robert Daniels, and Anthony Daniels. Their memory lives on in the hearts of all who knew Rex.
A memorial service to honor and remember Rex’s life will be held on May 5, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Ott & Lee Funeral Homes in Brandon, located at 1360 W Government Street. Friends, family, and all whose lives were touched by Rex are invited to gather in remembrance of a man whose warmth, dedication, and spirit will be deeply missed.
Rex Lanier Grantham’s life was one of quiet strength and enduring love, a testament to the values he held dear and the family he cherished above all. His presence will be profoundly missed but never forgotten.
