Rev. Tommy Wayne Mohon, Sr.

Pinola, MS

Rev. Tommy Mohon, Sr. age 81, a resident of Pinola, MS passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2023.  Graveside service will be held 11am Monday, February 27, 2023 at Hodge Hill Cemetery.  Bro. Roger Lee will officiate the service.  Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

Mr. Mohon was born in Copiah County on December 26, 1941.  He loved to fish and hunt and go camping at the Reservoir with the grandchildren.  Tommy had a special love and bond with his wife, Carolyn.  He did everything he could to make sure she was taken care of and would even stop on the side of the road and pick wild yellow flowers, which was her favorite and take home to her.  They enjoyed watching wresting together and would sit holding hands while watching and enjoyed arguing over who's favorite was going to win.  Tommy loved the Lord and talking to others about salvation was the first thing he would usually talk to them about.  He wanted to make sure everyone knew the love of the Lord.  He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

He is preceded in death by the love of his life, Carolyn Sue Roland Mohon; parents, Carl Edward Mohon and Sybil Louise Mohon Alford; son, Tommy Wayne Mohon, Jr.

He is survived by his son, James Edward Mohon of Pinola; brother, Marion Alford (Pam) of Brandon; 3 grandchildren, Jennifer Sue Mohon Jenson (Richard), Jonah Wayne Mohon and Carl Daniel Mohon (Amber); great grandchildren, Shelby Lynn Mohon, Kaz Ryan Green, Corban Blaze Mohon and Ava Jane Mohon and a host of other family members and friends.
