Reginald Grant Winstead, Jr. was born on January 12, 1938, to the late Reginald Grant Winstead, Sr. and Beulah Collum Winstead. He married the love of his life, Phyllis Irene Everitt, on August 21, 1959. Reginald settled with his family in Leesburg, Mississippi, where he farmed cotton until he retired in 2000. He and Phyllis then moved to Shiloh, Mississippi, to be closer to their children and grandchildren, where Reginald lived until his death at home at the age of 85 on April 3, 2023.
Reginald is survived by his three daughters, Cheryl Winstead, Nicole Banes (Michael), and Gretchen Kimble (Paul); his sister, Betty Carolyn Bunting (Glenn); and six grandchildren, Austin Christopher Banes, Dawson Grant Banes, Olivia Belle Banes, Lillian Page Kimble, Nancy Nicole “Nan” Kimble, and Duncan Monroe Kimble. Reginald is also preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Everitt Winstead, and grandchild, Coleman Grant Wadsworth. Reginald was a devoted and loyal husband, father, and Granddaddy, and he was beloved in return.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 7, 2023. from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, Mississippi. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 7, 2023, at the Ott & Lee Chapel in Brandon, Mississippi, with burial in the Shiloh Cemetery in Pelahatchie, Mississippi.
In lieu of floral gifts, memorials may be made to the Shiloh Church Cemetery Fund.
