Rayborn Huff

April 23, 1947 — November 26, 2025

Rayborn Glen Huff went to be with Jesus on November 26, 2025. Born in Pineville, Mississippi, to Ottis and Annie Ruth Huff, Rayborn grew up grounded in faith, humility, and a deep love for family — values that guided him throughout his life. He later made his home in Laurel, Mississippi, where his ministry, music, and devotion to Jesus Christ left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

On January 7, 1995, Rayborn married Rebecca “Becca” Huff. Together they shared thirty years as partners, soul mates and best friends through thick and thin. Their daughter, Zoe, was Daddy’s little sidekick and the center of their family.

One of the early pioneers of Christian rock, Rayborn was a founding member and longtime keyboardist for David & the Giants, the band that began in Laurel in the 1960s. With his brothers, David and Clayborn, Rayborn helped guide David & the Giants’ transformation from a secular rock band to a powerful Christian ministry beginning in 1977. Over the decades, the group released 19 albums and brought their blend of soulful rock, gospel, and heartfelt faith to audiences across the nation — a legacy Rayborn helped build with dedication and passion. In recent years, Rayborn and his twin brother Clayborn also recorded and released two albums together under the name Huff Twins, adding another meaningful chapter to his lifelong musical ministry.

Rayborn’s heart for ministry extended far beyond the stage. He, David, and Clayborn founded Christian Life Fellowship in 1991, where Rayborn poured his heart into preaching, teaching, and nurturing spiritual growth pointing many to the Way, the Truth and the Life. In 1992, he was instrumental in founding and establishing Christian Life Academy, where he served faithfully and played a leading role as administrator, guiding students with wisdom, patience, and Jesus-centered love.

Rayborn and his wife, Becca, later founded Christian Life Church in 2006 and Glade Christian Academy in 2009 in Laurel, Mississippi. Together, they built a ministry and school that impacted the lives of children, families, and their community. They built a variety of businesses throughout the years to support their family; a poultry farm, furniture store, service station, recording studio, gift store and boutique.

In addition to his pastoral and educational work, Rayborn lived out his faith through consistent acts of service. He delivered meals weekly for the Mississippi Food Mission, ministered with Feed My Sheep Ministries, and was involved in Boys Town, offering mentorship, encouragement, and practical support to those in need. Whether behind a pulpit, in a classroom, or standing on someone’s doorstep with a meal, Rayborn touched countless lives with humility and compassion.

Rayborn was preceded in death by his parents, Ottis and Annie Ruth Huff, his niece, Janet Morman, and his father in law, Jerry Don Wamble. He is survived by his wife, Becca; his daughter, Zoe; his siblings Dorothy Morman, David Huff(Twyla), and Clayborn Huff(Sissy); his brother in law Greg Wamble(Tracy) and his mother in law Deanna Wamble. He also leaves

behind a large and cherished circle of nieces and nephews who will deeply miss his warmth, love, and gentle, steady spirit.

Rayborn’s life was a testament to unwavering faith, genuine kindness, and a servant’s heart. His legacy — in his family, in music, in ministry, and in the countless lives he helped shape — will continue to shine brightly in many hearts for generations.
