Ralph Lane Burroughs, Jr., was born on September 5, 1941, in Jackson, MS. He left this earthly home and entered his eternal home on October 22, 2025, at the age of 84. Ralph dedicated much of his professional life to caring for others, having served as a Hospital Administrator for the State and as a nursing home Administrator for several years.
A committed member of Southside Assembly of God in Jackson, MS, he was deeply involved in the church community, leading music for over ten years and teaching Sunday School. Ralph also shared his passion for music through his active participation in the church choir. When he wasn't engaged in his professional or church activities, Ralph cherished the simple pleasure of fishing, often taking time to fish before and after work.
Ralph was a well-educated man, holding several Master’s degrees that reflected his dedication to lifelong learning. As health challenges arose, he became a resident of Brandon Court, where he lived for several years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Linda Robertson Burroughs; their two sons, Ralph Lane Burroughs, III and his wife Andreé of Gulfport, MS, and James Paul Burroughs and his wife Jenny of Ridgeland, MS; his sister, Deborah Burroughs Aycock and her husband Dr. Larry Aycock of Hattiesburg, MS; a grandson, Lane Burroughs of Gulfport, MS; a granddaughter, Karoline Burroughs of Gulfport, MS; and his sisters-in-law, Ann Robertson Bilbro of Pearl, MS, and Debbie Robertson Haskins and her husband Mark of Brandon, MS. He is also survived by his niece, Dr. Laurie Aycock Pitre and her husband David, and nephews, Charles Aycock, Greg Bilbro and his wife Angela, and Justin Haskins.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Lane Burroughs, Sr. and Nadine Hall Burroughs; a nephew, Larry B. Aycock; and his precious Pekapoo, Sugar, who was his constant companion.
The family will receive friends for visitation on October 25, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM at Ott & Lee Funeral Homes in Brandon, MS. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl, MS.
