Phillip Dean Abel

Phillip Dean Abel, 81, passed away with his loving family by his side on Wed. May 20, 2026 in Raleigh, MS. Visitation will be held on Fri. May 22, 2026 from 5pm-7pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services are 10am on Sat. May 23, 2026 at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl, MS.

Mr. Abel was born on July 16, 1944 in Seymour, IN to the late George Leroy Abel and Evelyn Lorraine Quillen Abel. He was a graduate of Columbus High School in Columbus, IN and retired as a Sales Manager with McKee Foods Corporation. Mr. Abel was an avid outdoor athlete who enjoyed triathlons, running, cycling, and swimming. One of his greatest accomplishments was making it to a base camp on Mt. Everest. Mr. Abel loved spending time with his family especially being a PawPaw to his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela Jo Marine Abel; two children, Kimberly Saulters (Jerry) and Patrick Abel; grandchildren, Justin Saulters, Will Saulters, Gage Abel and Haley Toney (Taylor); great grandchildren, Miles Saulters, Charlotte Saulters, Fallon Abel and Maverick Toney; sisters; Kay Dunn, Joyce Smith (Kent) and a brother, David Abel. Mr. Abel is also preceded in death by his son, Phillip Michael Aaron Abel; granddaughter, Amanda Saulters and a brother, George Abel.
