Peter “Bubba” Clyde Allen Wilson

October 27, 1971 – August 30, 2025

Peter Clyde Allen Wilson, lovingly known as “Bubba,” passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at the age of 53 in Brandon, Mississippi. Bubba’s larger-than-life presence, warm heart, and love for his family and friends leave behind a legacy that will be cherished forever.

Bubba was born in Jackson, Mississippi, on October 27, 1971, to the late Clyde Wilson and Diane (Shaheen) Wilson. He spent his early childhood in Jackson before the family moved to Natchez, where he attended school and built lifelong friendships. He later graduated from Adams County Christian School, where he was an exceptional athlete. Bubba earned state recognition in football and also played baseball, basketball and participated on the track team before receiving a football scholarship to Copiah-Lincoln Community College. Twice honored as an All-State athlete, he continued his football career at Georgia Southern before transferring to Delta State University to complete his athletic journey.

After college, Bubba built a career in logistics, beginning with Averitt Express before moving to Con-Way Freight / XPO, where he started as an inspector and then became a manager in the weights and inspection department over the Southeast region of the United States. His dedication, leadership, and work ethic earned him great respect, honors, and awards in his field.

Bubba’s passions in life extended far beyond his career. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting, a devoted Atlanta Braves and New Orleans Saints fan, and above all, a man who treasured time with his family. In recent years, Bubba and his wife, Dee Anne, spent countless days together on the boat, enjoying their favorite pastime of fishing side by side. He delighted in tossing a baseball with his grandson Beck and watching his granddaughter Millie tumble while sharing their favorite show, The Price is Right. Known for promising his grandchildren “a big prize” and always delivering, Bubba found joy in creating special moments with them.

As a father, Bubba was a steady source of wisdom and strength, constantly instilling life advice and turning even ordinary moments into teaching opportunities for his children. His one-liners, often borrowed from his uncles and father, became memorable lessons that shaped the lives of those he loved most.

Bubba is survived by his devoted wife, Dee Anne Wilson; his children Haley Lindsey and her husband Brooks of Brandon, Emmalee Wilson, and Wade Wilson; his beloved grandchildren Millie and Beck Lindsey; his sister Susan Rodriguez and her husband Domingo of Brandon and a large extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Diane (Shaheen) Wilson.

To his family and friends, Bubba was more than his accomplishments—As his closest lifelong friend, Sammy Atkins of Natchez, shared, “Bubba was admired by many for his giant stature and gentle nature. He will truly be missed by many, in Natchez, Brandon, and beyond.”

A celebration of Bubba’s life will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, Mississippi, with visitation from 2:00–4:00 p.m. and services beginning at 4:00 p.m., led by Pastor Jim Taylor of The Pointe Church in Brandon.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in Bubba’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, an organization close to his heart.

As we reflect on Bubba’s life and character, we find comfort in Proverbs 20:7: “The righteous lead blameless lives; blessed are their children after them.” His children and grandchildren are living proof of the love, guidance, and example he set each day.

Bubba will forever be remembered for his love of family, his generous heart, and his ability to light up a room with humor, warmth, and kindness. His legacy lives on in the lives of all who knew and loved him.
