Peggy Sullivan, age 81, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Lackey Memorial Hospital in Forest, MS.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at the Forest Baptist Church with visitation starting at 1:00 pm. Bro. Reid Stevens will be officiating. The burial will take place at the Conehatta Methodist Church Cemetery in Conehatta, MS.
Peggy was born in Newton County on October 1, 1941, to her parents O.T. (Bill) Idom and Ina Mae Blackburn Idom. Peggy learned independence and perseverance at a young age after her mother passed away when Peggy was 12 years old. She worked to support herself through the completion of high school in Newton, MS, and three years of college in Rome, GA, and Decatur, MS. She was a devoted member of the Forest Baptist Church. Peggy served many years singing in the church choir. Time spent with friends and family revealed her fun-loving nature and easy laughter. After retiring in 1995 from Sara Lee Bakery, Peggy enjoyed a quiet life in Forest MS.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Max R. Idom.
Survivors include sons Jeff Sullivan of Brandon, MS, and Steve Sullivan of Pinola, MS, sister Beth Killingsworth of Englewood, FL, grandsons Shawn (Rachel) Sullivan of Brandon, MS, and Parker (TJ) Sullivan of Madison, MS, great-grandchildren Mallory Sullivan and Graham Sullivan.
Pallbearers will be Shawn Sullivan, Parker Sullivan, Steve Stevens, Hardy Sumrall, Glenn Frye, and Jason Covington.
