Mrs. Patricia Ann Pace, 78, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at her home in Johns, Mississippi after a 14-year battle with Early On-set Alzheimer's disease.
Pat was born on October 1, 1947, to the late John Newton Cox and Vera Inez Montague Cox. She grew up in Grenada, Mississippi. After graduating from Draughon’s Business College in Jackson, she began a 36-year career at the Federal Bureau of Investigation. While in Jackson, she met James Pace, whom she would marry on November 2, 1968. James and Pat would remain devoted to each other through 50 years of marriage, parted only by death. They raised two children, providing a loving and stable home, filled with laughter. Their children are eternally grateful for their example and support.
Pat was a loving mother, wife, sister, aunt, and friend. The love and kindness she shared will be remembered by all who knew her. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking, shopping, crafting, traveling with her close friends and family, and was an active member of the FBI Alumni Association. Pat kept her sweet spirit, endearing smile, and love of music (especially Elvis) to the very end.
Her life was guided by a deep faith in Jesus Christ and love of Christian community. Throughout her life, Pat found great joy, meaning, and fellowship through active participation at church, especially Epworth United Methodist Church in Jackson and later Brandon First Methodist Church in Brandon.
Her children would like to express their deep gratitude for all the caregivers that helped care for her over the last 7 years. Christopher and Susan would like to thank their families for all the sacrifices they have made, especially over the past two years, to allow their mother to spend her final days at home.
She is survived by her two children, Susan Kasteler (Brandon) and Christopher Pace (Beth); sister, Jane Adair (Walter); two brothers, John Cox (Evelyn), Walter Earl Cox (Mildred) and seven grandchildren; Isaac Kasteler, India Frampton (Maxwell), Asher Kasteler (Marlys), Aiden Kasteler, Everett Kasteler, Harper Pace and Abigail Pace, as well as numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Mrs. Pace was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Pace and sister, Linda Faubion Stokes.
Friends and family members are invited to join in remembering her and celebrating her life. Visitation and a funeral service will be held at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS at the following times: Visitation times are on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. and Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 1 p.m.- 2 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. (immediately following the visitation) on Saturday, June 13, 2026. Following the service, Mrs. Pace will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Johns Cemetery located at 5262 MS Hwy 18, Brandon, Mississippi.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the charitable organization of your choice in her honor. Our mother was a donor to many organizations including World Vision, Habitat for Humanity, and her local church. The family would like to highlight the excellent care provided by Caring Days in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and would be honored by any donations to this great organization.
