Alford Patrick (Pat) Lewis, Sr., 75, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2010 at his home in the Antioch community with his family at his side. He was born in Puckett, Mississippi on June 26, 1934 to Ollie Lee Patrick and Willie Alford Lewis who both preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Joann Patrick Lewis; daughter Jan Lewis of Pelahatchie; son Pat Lewis, Jr. and wife Mary of Pelahatchie; son Bob Lewis and wife Cindy of Pelahatchie; son Todd Lewis and wife Angela of Auburn, Alabama; sister Louise Rodgers of Jackson; and brother Ronnie Lewis and wife Pat of Florence. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren as well as a host of extended family members and friends.
Mr. Lewis attended Puckett High School until 1953 and remained a loyal and dedicated fan to his beloved Wolfpack throughout his life. He drove a propane delivery truck in the Rankin County area for 38 years serving his community, family, and friends until his retirement in 1999 from Lampton Love in Pelahatchie. Since then, he remained active in his community and faithfully served his Lord as a member of the Men’s #1 Sunday School class at Antioch Baptist Church in Brandon.
The Lewis family would like to express their gratitude for the loving care and kindness extended to our beloved husband and father by the entire staff of Odyssey Healthcare in Flowood, with special thanks to Debra Willis and Stephanie Williams for their professionalism and support. We also extend sincere thanks to our many friends who provided love and support to our family through their prayers, visits, words of encouragement, and other acts of kindness. We will be forever grateful.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 26th at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 27th at Antioch Baptist Church with the Rev. Gayden Harrell and Bro. Kenneth Roberts officiating. Visitation will be held at the church 30 minutes prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow the service at Antioch Baptist Church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Antioch Baptist Church, 2350 Hwy 43 South, Brandon, MS 39042; or Odyssey VistaCare Hospice Foundation, 717 N. Harwood Street, Suite 1500, Dallas, TX 75201.
