Ouida Hudson Culpepper

Ouida Rowell Hudson Culpepper, age 86, of Brandon, Mississippi, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family in Ridgeland, Mississippi, on Friday, June 19, 2026.

Born on June 9, 1940, in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was a graduate of Carriere High School. She married Roy Hudson on May 3, 1959, and was married for 30 years. Ouida lived a life devoted to her family, faith, and service to others. She was a member of Brandon Baptist Church and retired after 27 years of dedicated service with the State of Mississippi.

Ouida found her greatest joy in her family. She especially loved attending her grandchildren's activities, school functions, and special occasions. Her kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering devotion to her family will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her.

She is survived by her sons, Joel Hudson (Delores), Kerry Hudson (Lynn), and Shawn Hudson (Cindy); her grandchildren, Katherine Hudson-Neill (Patrick), Ryan Hudson, Rebecca Hudson, Thomas Hudson, and Wesley Hudson; along with numerous extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Vergie deLassus; her husbands, Roy Hudson and then Edward Culpepper; and her grandsons, Samuel Hudson and Matthew Hudson.

Visitation is 1 PM until 2 PM on Monday, June 22nd, immediately followed by a graveside service held at Hebron Cemetery in Brandon, Mississippi. Arrangements are under the direction of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon.

Ouida's legacy of love, faith, kindness, and devotion to her family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
