Ora “Hazel” Smith Hallman Allen, 90, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at her home in Pearl, Mississippi.
Hazel was born May 23, 1935, in Polkville, Mississippi, to Jasper Smith and Lillie Mae Ingram Smith. A hard worker, she was employed for many years by Texaco as a store manager. She loved her church and had been a member of Skyway Hills Baptist Church for 61 years.
Although small in stature, she was big in personality. She was blessed with quite the green thumb, and she could be found in her free time working in her yard and greenhouse and tending to her numerous plants and flowers. She also loved a good meal or dessert. More than anything, she adored her family and spending time with them.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jasper and Lillie Smith; daughter, Belinda June “B.J.” Hallman; granddaughter, Chastity Hope Hallman; and siblings, Odis Smith, William Martin Smith, and Hullon Smith.
Survivors include her son, Wesley Hallman (Kristy); daughter-in-law, Kathy Hallman; grandchildren, Wesley Bradley “Brad” Hallman (Rainey) and Chris Trim; great grandchildren, Conner Hallman (Shelby), Logan Hallman, Aspen Hallman, and Brady Hallman; and one great-great grandchild, Oaklynn Mae Hallman, who will make her arrival in July.
Visitation will be held at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon on Friday, May 15, 2026, from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon, with the funeral service beginning at 12:00 noon in the funeral home chapel. Hazel will be laid to rest in Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl following the service.
