Nancy Stevenson

Nancy Lee VanSeyst Stevenson, 88, passed away Thurs. March 9, 2023 at her home. Visitation will be held on Mon. March 13, 2023 from 11am-1pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services are 1pm on Mon. March 13, 2023 at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Brandon, MS with burial to follow in the Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl, MS.

Mrs. Stevenson was born in Buffalo, NY. Her family moved to Tampa, FL when she was a teenager. She met her husband, Charles in Tampa. He was stationed at MacDill Air Force Base. Two weeks after they met, they were married. He took his bride to his lifelong home in Mississippi. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by her five children, Richard Stevenson (Myra), Charles Stevenson Jr. (LaWanda), Cindy Wallace (Price), Michael Stevenson Sr. (Virginia) and Aletha Davis (John); 14 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Stevenson was preceded in death by her parents, Richard VanSeyst and Aletha Craig VanSeyst; husband, Charles W. Stevenson Sr. and her two sisters, Audrey Willis and Grace Burkett.

Mrs. Stevenson leaves behind a legacy of her Christian faith, her nurturing love and her sense of humor. She instilled lifelong values in her children’s and grandchildren’s lives. You always felt welcome in her home where she cooked many good meals. She loved her family unconditionally.
