Forkville

Mrs. Barbara Mondale Beavers Farris, age 90, a former resident of the Forkville Community passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at Riggs Manor Retirement Community.

Visitation will be held Monday, October 6, 2025 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm.

Chapel service will be held at 2pm Monday at the Ott and Lee Chapel in Morton.

There will be NO graveside service and burial will be in Bethlehem Baptist Cemetery in Forkville.

Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton is honored to serve the Farris family.

Barbara Mondale Beavers Farris, age 90 of Flora, MS, passed from this life on October 1, 2025, at Riggs Manor Nursing Home.

Her Family extends a special thank you to the nurses and staff for excellent care during her stay at Riggs.

Barbara was the daughter of Byron and Nell Beavers. She grew up in Forkville MS, she attended school in Forkville and then Morton until graduation. After graduation she continued her education at East Central College.

Barbara Married Carbie Eugene Farris from Arkansas. They had two sons, Larry Eugene and Lennie Carl Farris. After Carbie retired from Full time Navy they settled in Byram MS, there they operated several businesses Trucking, Farris Wrecker before, and Appleridge Bowling Lanes, before retiring. Barbara was an excellent bowler and bowled on several leagues, where she won many awards.

She attended Flora Baptist Church where she was a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class.

Barbara is survived by her son Lennie Farris, (Dee), sisters, Betty Beavers Ruskton Truett, Bonita Beavers Herring Smith, (Charles), Bonnye Beavers Owens and Brenda Beavers Bond, (John); brother, Baxter Beavers; two sister-in-laws, Robbie O’Neal and Alice Hinsley. She is preceded in death by her parents Byron and Nell Beavers, son Larry Eugene Farris, brother, Billy Charles Beavers and her husband, Carbie Eugene Farris.
