Mr. Leo Harmon, age 80, a resident of Forest passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at Bedford Care Center of Newton, MS surrounded by his loving children. Visitation will be held 9:00 am-11:00 am on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest. Chapel services will be held at 11am from the Ott & Lee Chapel in Forest. Graveside service will be held following the chapel service at Carr United Methodist Church Cemetery. Bro. Mark Thompson will officiate the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home of Forest.
Mr. Harmon was born in Smith County on September 14, 1941. He enjoyed watching bull riding and rodeos and working with his cattle and studying cow magazines. Mr. Harmon drove a log truck for many years, was a carpenter and a very hard worker. He and his wife, Mary Annette enjoyed watching the Gaither shows on tv, listening to the good old gospel music. Leo loved his family very much and his grandchildren and great grandchildren were the apple of his eye. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John William Harmon and Lucy Ellen Bailey Harmon; loving wife, Mary Annette Goodson Harmon; child, Sidney Ferrell Harmon and sibling, Jerry Harmon.
He is survived by his loving children, Sheryl Annette Thompson (Mark) of Louisville, Tanya Carrol Tanner (Tommy) of Decatur and Michelle Lynn Harmon of VA; siblings, Eleanor Baucum of Decatur and June Ward of AL; grandchildren, Jonathan Marcus Thompson (Heather), Ryan Isaac Thompson, Joshua Milton Thompson, Ronnie David Thompson, Kody Nelson Tanner, Kalyn Michea Tanner Hall (John Tyler), Perry Lee Poole, Jr., Mark Harmon Poole, Amber Lei Poole; great grandchildren, James Edwin Thompson (Jet), Ava Rose Thompson, Malcolm Ian Thompson and Zoey Annette Hall and a host of friends.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Thompson, Ryan Thompson, Joshua Thompson, Mark Poole, David Thompson, Kody Tanner, Lee Poole and JT Hall. Honorary pallbearer will be Jet.
Memorials may be made in his honor to Gideons International.
