Mr. Mike Pruitt, age 54, a resident of the Polkville Community passed away on Friday, February 18, 2022 at Merit Health River Oaks Hospital. Visitation will be held 9am-1:30pm Sunday, February 20, 2022 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Funeral service will be held 2pm Sunday from the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton with burial to follow in Piney Grove Cemetery. Bro. Brent Wade and Bro. Jeremy Price will officiate the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
Mike was born on May 23, 1967. He worked for Puckett Machinery for many years. Mike loved the outdoors, fishing, horse riding, riding the wagon train and just working on things. He had a heart for helping children and enjoyed working with the Horses for Handicapped. Mike loved to get friends and family together to cook and sit around and talk. He enjoyed making memories with everyone. Mike and his wife, Tonya and their many friends enjoyed going camping together. If you ever met Mike, you never would forget him. This is quoted from his daughter, Kady, “If you knew my dad, you knew that he was the best person to ever have in your life. He had a smile that lit up the world and the biggest heart I knew. He was the best man I knew, and I could always count on him for everything. He took care of everybody and made sure me, and my mom had everything we ever needed. He was my best friend.” He left a big impact on a lot of people and his big smile and big heart will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his father, Walter Robert Pruitt; mother, Rebbekah Ann Traxler Pruitt Neal (Claude-step father); uncles, Troy Edward Traxler, Paul David Traxler, Jack Traxler; infant uncle, Charles Traxler; aunt, Jane Denson; grandparents, Rachel Traxler, Troy W. Traxler, Allie Pruitt Harrell, Anse Harrell (step grandfather) and Curtis Pruitt; father-in-law & mother-in-law, Henry Hughes and Connie Hughes.
He is survived by his loving wife, Tonya Pruitt of Polkville; daughter, Kady Pruitt of Polkville; 2 nephews, Trey & Dean Dickinson; special sister, Dee Dee Walker (Ricky); brother-in-law, Hank Hughes (Vickie); sister-in-law, Fonda Dickinson (Rhuel); aunts, Jackie Traxler, Carol Traxler, Rena Wood (Marvin); uncle, James Denson; a host of very special cousins, very special co-workers and wonderful friends.
Pallbearers will be Neal Wood, Scott Sellers, Trey Glaze Richie Denson, Clint Graham, Chris Wade, Zac Porter, Courtney Buckelew, Dean Dickinson, Trey Dickinson, Jim Denson, Jason James and Doug Parkman.
