Mr. Mike Parker, age 69, a resident of the Leesburg Community passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2023, surrounded by his family. He passed away on his birthday, wow what a great way to spend your birthday meeting Jesus. His visitation will be held 5-8pm Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Services will be held 11am Wednesday, April 19, 2023 from the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton with burial in Leesburg Church of Christ Cemetery. Bro. Floyd Steverson and Bro. Billy Ray Parker will officiate the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
Mike was born in Rankin County on April 15, 1954. He was a member of the Pelahatchie Masonic Lodge #276. Mike loved to grill and cook and was an avid Nascar supporter of Dale Earnhardt. He was a people person and never met a stranger. Mike could not fix a vehicle but could tell someone exactly what was wrong with it and what it needed to be fixed. His big heart smile and love for life will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Windham Parker; parents, Clifton A. Parker and Willie Stewart Parker; siblings, OT Parker, Oneda Crosswhite, Dora Sprayberry and Wayne Parker.
He is survived by his children, Jennifer Pennington and husband, Ty of Pelahatchie and Ashley Parker of Pelahatchie; 3 grandchildren, Preston Pennington, Patton Pennington and Emory Parker; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and numerous friends.
Pallbearers will be Rusty Cross, Freeman Hollingsworth, Cody Parker, Jerry Parker, Nic Williams and Shawn Crosswhite. Honorary pallbearers will be John Myers, Randy Peavy, Alan Robinson, Steve Young, Bob Harris, Jeremy Shoemaker, Jake Shoemaker and Kurt Windham.
Memorials may be made in his name and honor to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
