It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved son and brother, Miguel Antonio Rubio "Tony". A gift, born at only 27 weeks, once tiny and small quickly transformed into a strong, fearless and honorable man. His beautiful soul left us far too soon on July 20, 2025.
Tony was a kind soul with a bright, curious mind. He found joy in the worlds of gaming and anime, where stories came to life and imagination had no limits. Whether he was immersed in an epic battle online or laughing at his favorite anime series, he connected deeply to the characters and adventures that sparked his creativity and gave him comfort.
Beyond the screen, he was a loyal friend, a loving family member, and someone who never hesitated to share a joke, a random fact, or a moment of quiet understanding. His empathy and sensitivity were the quiet strength behind his thoughtful heart.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents; uncle, Juan Antonio Rubio (Tony's namesake); maternal great grandparents, George and Sarah Whaley and Brenda Watley; grandmother, "Drammaw" Carla Marie Whaley; and great aunt, Lisa Parker.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his grandfather, George Whaley (Diana); father, Edgar Miguel Rubio Torres; mother, Leona Santamaria (Billy); siblings, Sharraden (Justavius), Victoria (CJ), and Harley; great aunt, Kimberly Miller; aunt, Tosha Rowland (Daniel); cousins, Austin (Kathryn) and Alicia Mascho (Shane); and Tony's village parents and siblings, mothers, Jessica, Brook (Alex), Liz and Kim; uncle, Jose; siblings, Nathaniel "Nate his best Mate", Cailee (Zac), Bud, Sean, Devon, Lucas, Damien, Chase (Brooke), Analise (Kaleb); as well as his fiercely loved and adored partner, Melanie Harmon, whom he cherished till the very end; and countless family and friends who cherished his humor, passion, and presence. His memory will live on in every shared laugh, every game played, and every episode watched with love.
