Michael “Mike” Thomas Coghlan, 67, of Pelahatchie, Mississippi, passed away on May 25, 2026.
Mike was born on May 17, 1959. He was a hardworking man who spent much of his life working construction and helping build homes for others. Later in life, he worked repairing lawn mowers, always staying busy with his hands and doing honest work. Mike enjoyed the simple things in life — sitting on the couch watching television, collector of cars, and hunting. He was someone who found comfort in being home with the people he loved most.
Mike was married to his wife, Betty Coghlan, who he met as a junior at Pelahatchie High School. They were married for 48 years. He is survived by his daughters, Amy Cain and Misty Poye; his son, Coleman Coghlan; and his beloved grandchildren, Madelyn Cain, Hunter Cain, and Cannon Coghlan. He also leaves behind many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Dorothy Coghlan as well as his siblings Greg, Kathy, and Marilyn. He is survived by his brothers James and Dale.
To his family, he was more than just a grandfather, father, or husband — he was home. He was someone who protected the people he loved, showed up when it mattered, and loved deeply in the quiet ways that meant the most. His presence brought comfort, safety, and strength to his family, and the memories shared with him will be cherished forever. Mike was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Mike wished to be cremated and his wishes have been followed by the family.
