Maudie Fox Walker

Maudie Fox Walker was born in Attala County on July 15, 1931 to Marion and Francis Fox. She passed away on February 7, 2024 surrounded by her family. She was the youngest of fourteen children. She married William H. Walker on October 2, 1953 and they were married for fifty years until his death in 2004. They were very active members of Mt. Creek Baptist Church in Florence, MS. for over 60 years. During that time, she thoroughly enjoyed serving in anyway, but especially by teaching children and adult classes. She also drove a school bus and watched study hall at Rankin Academy. Maudie will be remembered most for her caring nature and sassy personality. She is survived by: three sons- Stephen (DeeDee), Curtis (Carol) and Glenn (Cheryl), her nine grandchildren and fourteen great- grandchildren. 

Maudie's family would like to sincerely thank Villa South Assisted Living, Compassus Hospice (Hannah Jackson, RN), and Baptist Hospital's ICU EAST staff for caring for her so well.  

Visitation will be held at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon on Saturday, February 10, 2024 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm and Sunday, February 11, 2024 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. The funeral service will begin in the chapel at 2:00 pm. She will be laid to rest in Mountain Creek Cemetery in Florence, Mississippi.

Pallbearers for her service are Derek Walker, Jacob Walker, Thomas Walker, Taylor Walker, Landon Walker and Daniel Walker. Honorary pallbearers are Weston Walker, Liam Walker, Ben Waits and Landon Sahler.
