Mary Harris

Mrs. Mary Alice Harris, age 86 and a lifelong resident of Smith County, passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at MS Care Center of Raleigh, where she had been under the professional care of the staff since 2016.

Graveside services will begin at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at the Pineville-Leaf River Cemetery under the direction of Ott & Lee Funeral Home.

Dr. Danny Dickerson will officiate.

Mrs. Harris was a retired poultry farmer, having worked for B.C. Rogers Poultry Company for 48 years. Remembered for her strong work ethic, Mrs. Harris spent many hours outdoors working in her yard and tending to her homeplace. She was a longtime member of Leaf River Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband: Bill Harris; one daughter: Brenda Harris; her parents: Bee and Edna Smith Harris and all of her siblings.

Survivors include her sons: Billy Ray Harris and Michael (Marife Pacanot) Harris, both of Loun; two sisters-in-law: Margie Harris and May Bell Moncrief; a host of nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Scottie Harris, Billy Joe Ratcliff, Stacy Ratcliff, Jeffery Gentry, Chris McFarland, and Larry Weathersby.
