Martin Phalen

Martin Paul Phalen, age 70, a resident of Brandon, MS passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2022, in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm-6:00 pm Sunday, May 22, 2022, at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. A Mass service will be held 6:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home.

Mr. Phalen was born October 1, 1951, in Binghamton, NY to Thomas Henry Phalen and Ruth Martin Phalen. He was married to Stephanie Monroe Phalen. Mr. Phalen received his degree as a Chemical Biologist and worked as an engineer for many years before retiring. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Flowood, MS. He loved his family and spending time with them brought great joy to his life. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.

Mr. Phalen was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Henry Phalen and Ruth Martin Phalen; and his brother, William “Bill” Phalen.

Mr. Phalen is survived by his wife of 36 years, Stephanie Monroe Phalen; children, Mary Jo Hurst (Jason), Matthew Thomas Phalen (Haley), Mariah Ruth Phalen, and Sarah Anne Ves (Joshua); sister, Mary Alana Kuhn (Robert); brothers, James Francis Phalen, and Thomas Michael Phalen (Marilyn); sister-in-law, Bonnie Jean Phalen (Dave); grandchildren, Trinity Nichole Phalen, Katelynn Marie Phalen, Maryann Ruth Phalen, and Abigail Anne Vest; many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
