Martha Mccreary

Martha Jean McCreary, 81, our Mimi, left this world and walked into the arms of God on Sat. April 15, 2023 at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be held on Tues. April 18, 2023 from 10am-11am at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services are 11am on Tues. April 18, 2023 at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Brandon, MS with burial to follow in the Crestview Memorial Gardens in Brandon, MS. Rev. Ryan Merchant will officiate the services. Pallbearers are Ryan Merchant, Daniel Merchant, Jeff Wright, Jayce Wright, Patrick Wall and Austin Langford.

Jean McCreary loved her family well. Her doors were always open, and she was diligent to keep the family connected through gatherings at her home. She was proud of her children & grandchildren and bragged on them every chance she had.

She loved to host friends in her home as well. Jean was a great friend, and she loved her friends dearly. At every opportunity, she had her friends come to her home to enjoy each other's company and conversation. Jean was a dynamic mix of toughness and tenderness. Without question, she was a person you appreciated being in your corner.

Mrs. McCreary is survived by her husband, Joe E. McCreary; 3 children, Teresa Merchant (Roger), Harold Wright (Alison) and Joe M. McCreary (Holly); brother, James Marshall (Frannie); son in law, Kevin Langford (Terresa Johnson); 6 grandchildren, Ryan Merchant (Clair), Daniel Merchant, Nicole Wall (Patrick), Jeff Wright (Chasity), Jayce Wright (Hope), Austin Langford (Katelyn) and 12 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Lee Marshall and Bernice Florence Harnage Marshall; daughter, Lori Langford; sisters, Sarah Coleman, Florence McCreary, Lois Singletary and Mary Marshall; brothers, John C. Marshall, Robert Marshall Jr. and Ed Marshall; great grandchild, Micah-Jo Hila Merchant and her daughter in law, Ronda Wright.
