Marlene Marie Rhodes, born on June 9, 1943, in San Jose, California, passed away on October 13, 2025, in Jackson, Mississippi. She was a devoted member of the Catholic Faith, often enjoying her services and Mass through television.

Marlene's life was filled with love for her family, especially her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She found joy in being a BINGO caller for many local nursing homes, bringing smiles and excitement to those around her. An avid shopper, she embraced life with enthusiasm and a generous spirit.

Marlene is survived by her loving daughter, Sabrina Swilley and her husband Tommy; her son, Toby Rhodes and his wife Denise; her granddaughters, Haley Eargle and her husband Jordan, and Jennie Williams and her husband David; her grandson, Randall Rhodes; and her great-grandchildren, James Eargle and Joelle Eargle.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Sidney Rhodes; her father, Lawrence J. Furtado; and her mother, Dorothy Marie Piexoto Furtado.

A visitation in Marlene’s honor will be held on October 24, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Ott & Lee Funeral Homes in Brandon, Mississippi. Marlene will be remembered for her love and kindness, leaving a legacy that will continue to inspire those who knew her.
