Marilyn Gibson, age 76, a resident of Forest passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, following a brief illness.
A memorial service will be held at 6pm Sunday, December 1, 2024, at Hillcrest Church, 3790 Hwy. 35 South in Forest. She will be laid to rest on Monday, December 2nd in the Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Newton, MS. Graveside services will not be held. OTT & LEE Funeral Home is honored to serve the Gibson family.
Marilyn was born on March 22, 1948, to her parents James Reynolds and Evelyn Crenshaw Reynolds in Corpus Christi, TX. She later moved to Mississippi. She had retired as activities director at the Jasper County Nursing Home in Bay Springs. Marilyn was an active member of the Hillcrest Church where she was a part of the worship team. She was also a faithful volunteer and supporter of the Carlisle Crisis Center in Forest where she enjoyed helping people by lending a helping hand in various needs. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Mike Gibson of Forest, two children, Kristen Gibson of Austin, TX, and Jesse Mathis of Canyon Lake, TX, a sister, Carolyn Lee, a grandson, Jon Mikel “Taylor” Wilkerson and a great grandson, Jon-Alex "Sorren" Wilkerson. She also leaves behind a host of friends.
