Margaret Ann Polk Hales, age 86, a resident of Pearl, MS, passed away Saturday, August 27, 2022, at St. Dominic Memorial Hospital in Jackson, MS. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Monday at Polkville Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the church.

Mrs. Hales was born September 16, 1935, to Daniel Webster Polk and Ester Stennett Polk. She was married to James H. Hales. Mrs. Hales worked for the Rankin County School System and retired after 35 years of service. She loved teaching, and her students loved her. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, and playing the piano. She loved her family very much and spending time with them brought great joy to her life. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.

Mrs. Hales was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Hales, parents, Daniel Webster Polk and Ester Stennett Polk, siblings, John Polk, Jane Peterson, Joe Polk, and Sarah Barber.

Mrs. Hales is survived by her daughter, Gwen Hales; grandchild, Jordan Scott Hales; special niece, Rachel Peterson; many other nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
