Major Robert Allen Lemire, 45, passed away Wed. June 16, 2010, at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation will be held Sun. June 20, 2010 from 2pm.-5pm. at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Funeral Services are 2pm. Mon. June 21, 2010 at the funeral home with interment to follow in the New Brandon Cemetery. Major Lemire was born July 2, 1964 in Monterey Park, California. He held a bachelors degree in biology from Transylvania University, a bachelors degree in wildlife management from Eastern Kentucky University and a Masters degree in entomology from the University of Kentucky.

Major Lemire was a combat veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom where he earned the Bronze Star medal. He previously served as a member of the Kentucky Army National Guard and was currently a full time staff member of the Mississippi Army National Guard. Major Lemire served as the Environmental Officer at the Joint Forces Headquarters in Jackson, MS and was also a volunteer in his community and devoted countless hours serving as the Chief of the Langford Volunteer Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife Terri Lemire; daughters, Racheal and Cheyenne of Brandon; his parents, Robert & Ruth Lemire of Lexington, KY; one sister, Tina Lemire and husband Mark Burdett of Seattle,WA and his mother and father-in-law, Leslie & Jessie Masters of Waco, KY.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society Miss. Division Inc. 1380 Livingston Lane, Jackson, MS 39213, the Wings Volunteer Program at the West Clinic in Memphis, TN, or the Langford Fire
