Lucille Stagg age 95, died Wednesday, July 2nd at the Winston Medical Center in Louisville, MS.

Lucille (Griffin) Stagg was born in Standing Pine, MS to Lloyd and Mollie (White) Griffin on October 17, 1929. She spent most of her life in Scott and Newton County, MS before moving to Louisville, MS later in life.

Lucille was a devoted wife to her husband Earl, loving mother to her 9 children, and adoring grandmother to her multitude of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

After marrying she stayed home to raise her children and also played an active role in the lives of her many grandchildren. Lucille was a devoted Christian and was a member of the Pine Ridge Missionary Baptist Church.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Mrs. Stagg is preceded in death by her husband, Earl Franklin Stagg; 3 sons, Charles Odell Stagg, Jeffrey Loyd Stagg, and Patrick Neal Stagg; her parents; and 10 siblings, Velma Wilkerson, Luna Ferrell, Helen Loper, Frank Griffin, Percy Griffin, L. E. Griffin, Coyte Griffin, Herman Griffin, Leon Griffin, and Theo Griffin.

She is survived by 6 children, Carolyn Tremaine of George West, TX , Earl Franklin Stagg, Jr. of Conehatta, MS, Thomas Edward Stagg (Mary Lou) of Encinal, TX, Jerry Lynn Stagg (Elizabeth) of Forest, MS, Alisha Michelle Knowles of Newton, MS, and Belinda Winters (Edward) of Louisville, MS; and a legacy of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Winston County Nursing Home, the Winston Medical Center, and Dr. Dustin Gentry for the care they provided during her six year stay.
