Lou Sylvia Tucker

Lou Sylvia Tucker, born on March 25, 1946, in Vicksburg, MS, passed away on October 10, 2025, at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Sylvia was a devoted person who loved her Jesus and cherished the time she spent raising her grandchildren.

She earned her Associates Degree and worked as a phlebotomist and PBX Operator at the VA Medical Center. Sylvia attended services at Crossgates Church and The Pointe Church, where she found joy and community in her faith.

Sylvia is survived by her daughter, Sindy Bardwell and husband Billy; son, Howard Wilkerson; daughters, Melissa Engle and husband Wayne, Cassandra Engle (Billy), and Cathryn Keith. She also leaves behind her brother, Bobby Bennett; sister, Mary Green; and brothers, Jimmy Bennett, James Bennett, and John Bennett. She was a proud grandmother to 22 grandchildren, as well as a number of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Max Tucker; daughter Belinda Hoffman; her parents, Archie Cecil Bennett, Sr., Sr. and Mary Hoffman Bennett; and her brothers, Archie Cecil Bennett, Jr. and Tom Bennett.

Sylvia will be remembered for her devotion to her family and faith, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
