Reverend Lloyd Adcock

October 15, 1927 – June 15, 2025

Rev. Lloyd Adcock, 97, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at his residence in Brandon, Mississippi, leaving behind a legacy of unwavering faith, service, and devotion to his family and community.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at Brandon First United Pentecostal Church. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m., with graveside at Crestview Memorial Gardens in Brandon.

Born on October 15, 1927, to Willie Vaughn and Lela May Adcock at their home near Philadelphia, Mississippi, Lloyd was raised on a farm alongside his sister and two older brothers. After receiving the Holy Ghost in 1946, he began a lifelong journey in ministry and soon married the love of his life, Eloise Commer. Together, they shared 73 years of marriage and raised a family rooted in love and faith.

Lloyd was licensed with the United Pentecostal Church in 1955 and served faithfully in ministry for more than 65 years. After pastoring Macedonia Revival Center in Philadelphia, he followed a calling to Brandon, where he founded First United Pentecostal Church. Under his leadership, the church grew from humble beginnings into a thriving congregation. Even after retirement, he remained a devoted member and honorary bishop at Brandon United Pentecostal Church and served as chaplain to the Brandon Fire Department, Police Department, and city officials—a reflection of his deep commitment to both church and community.

He was honored with the Murphy Adkins Service Award in 2004 and held numerous leadership roles within the United Pentecostal Church, including District Sunday School Director, District Purchasing Agent, and Section Presbyter.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Eloise Adcock; his son, Danny Adcock; and his daughter, Shelia Lovern. He is survived by his sons, Jim Adcock of Brandon and Paul Adcock (Penny) of Brandon; his son-in-law, Orborn Lovern of Philadelphia; grandchildren, Justin Adcock (Kayla), Josh Adcock (Liza), Logan Adcock (Nicole), Melody Russell (Bryan), and Summer Smart (Chance); great-grandchildren, Savanna (Noah) Hurst, Breigh Adcock, Brooklyn Jade Adcock, Harley Grace (Bailey) Pilgrim, Payden Cash Smart, Ransom Nash Smart, Austin Waldrop, Caleb Adcock, Max Adcock, and Margot Adcock; and great-great-grandchildren, Halen Pilgrim and the soon-to-arrive Knox Everette Hurst.

A man of deep conviction and compassion, Reverend Adcock was not only a pastor, but also a mentor, friend, and father figure to many. His faith touched countless lives, and his legacy of love and service will live on through his family and the community he so deeply shaped.
