Linda Warren, a lifelong resident of the Homewood died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, September 9, 2023, one day past her 82nd birthday following a lengthy illness.

 

Funeral services will be conducted at 11am Wednesday, September 13, 2023, from the chapel of the OTT & LEE Funeral Home in Forest with interment to follow in the Homewood Cemetery where she will be laid to rest beside her late husband, Johnny Dale Warren who preceded her in death in 2008.  Visitation will be held from 10am till the service time at 11am at the funeral home.

 

She was born on September 8, 1941, in Leake County to her parents, Sidney Herrington and Edna Canon Herrington.  Linda became a hairdresser and later worked for the J.C. Penny Company where she retired.  She was a faithful member of the Hillcrest Church in Forest.  She loved her family.  In fact, if you knew Linda, her world revolved around her two sons. She enjoyed visiting friends.  Linda also loved listening to music,  taking care of her yard, and flowers, and loved the outdoors.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings, Redell Herrington, Sidney Herrington, Jr. Albert Herrington, Leon Herrington, Marcie Coleman, Louise Fredrick, and Mozell Dennis.

 

Linda is survived by her 2 sons, Kevin Warren of Pulaski, and Jeff Warren (Aimee) of Brandon. 

 

The Warren family wishes to express their gratitude for the medical care provided by the compassionate staff of the  UMMC in Jackson, Ochsner Scott Regional Hospital in Morton, Ochner-Rush Hospital in Meridian, and Accent Care Home Health-Hospice.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hillcrest Church P.O. Box 1481 Forest, MS 39074, or to the Homewood Cemetery Fund.
