Leroy Russell Miller

Leroy Russell Miller passed away on Sun. July 30, 2023 at the age of 88. Visitation will be held on Thurs. Aug. 10, 2023 from 9:30am-10:30am at Crossgates United Methodist Church in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services are 10:30am on Thurs. Aug. 10, 2023 at Crossgates United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the Crestview Memorial Gardens in Brandon, MS. Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS handling arrangements.

Leroy was born June 29, 1935 to Dale and Mabel Miller in Hampton, Iowa. He went to Long Beach, CA with family around 6 years old and had schooling in the Long Beach Schools, graduating from Wilson High School in 1953. That same year he began working at North American Aviation/Rockwell International/Boeing in the Space Shuttle Program. He retired in 1990 after 37 years. At Rockwell, he met his wife, Nancy Howe and they married in 1973. They both enjoyed Rockwell bowling leagues and camping with their motorhome group. In 2006 they moved to Brandon, MS from California and have enjoyed the “slower” pace of life. They joined an Allegro group here and had many, many, years of camping with the Allegros Chapter 95 friends. He was a member of Crossgates United Methodist Church in Brandon, MS.

Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Mabel Miller; his stepmother, Yvonne Miller; his son, Stephen Miller; his four brothers, Dale, Larry (Charlene), Glen (Doris) and Richard (Lillian). Leroy is survived by his wife of 50 years, Nancy Howe Miller; daughter, Kari Miller; son, Jason (Cathryn) Miller; sister-in-law, Ruby Miller; grandsons, Kevin (Emily) Miller, Jeff (Allison) Miller, Nicholas Miller and Zachary Miller; granddaughter, Carissa Tyree; 8 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Crossgates United Methodist Church Ever Young Group, St. Peter's Fund or the Backpack Ministry at 23 Crossgates Dr. Brandon, MS 39042.
