Lenson Johnson

Mr. Lenson B. Johnson, age 69, a resident of the Pineville Community passed away at Merit Health Rankin on May 25, 2022.  Visitation will be held from 10am-12pm Friday, May 27, 2022 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest.  Graveside service will be held at 1pm, at Leaf River Baptist Cemetery in Pineville.  Bro. Danny Dickerson will officiate the service.  Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest.

Mr. Johnson was born in Jasper County on June 9, 1952.  He enjoyed his family coming over and he would cook on the grill and the smoker for them.  Lenson enjoyed all kinds of hunting and he and his fishing buddy, Raylon, loved to wet a hook together.  His family stated, “he had a dry humor, made his own decisions and marched to his own beat.”  He was loved by all his family, and he loved them just as much.  He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

He is preceded in death by his father, Wallace Lee Johnson.

He is survived by his mother, Velma Faye Huff Johnson; children, Shawn Johnson of Gonzales, LA, Nathan Johnson of Pineville, and Michael Johnson of Port Gibson; siblings, Charles Johnson (Frances) of Pineville, Sherry Hillman (Dennis) of Pineville and Dana Quiroz (Johnny) of Purvis; niece, Lacee Leard, fishing buddy, Raylon Neese and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Quiroz, Dennis Hillman, Phil Fortune, Steven Fortune and Nay McDaniel.  Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Thornton and Don Waites.

Memorials may be made in his honor to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
