Larry Eugene Maynard

Nov 24, 1967 — Aug 9, 2026

Flowood, MS

In loving memory of Larry Eugene Maynard,

Larry Maynard, 58, passed away surrounded by family on Sunday, August 9, after a courageous 10 year battle with cancer. Though his journey was filled with challenges, he faced each day with strength, faith and an unwavering love for the people who meant the most to him.

Above all else, Larry loved God and his family. His faith carried him through the hardest moments of his life, and his love for his family was evident in everything he did. But perhaps his greatest joy and proudest title was Pops. Being a grandfather was one of the greatest blessings of his life, and he treasured every moment spent loving, teaching and making memories with his grandsons. His family will forever cherish the love, laughter and countless memories he gave them.

Larry was also a proud Mississippi State fan. Whether cheering on the bulldogs, spending time with family, or simply enjoying the things he loved, he brought his own personality and humor to every moment. He was simply funny—often without trying to be—which somehow made him even funnier. Those who knew him best will undoubtedly hear his voice in their memories and smile at the things he said.

He leaves behind a family who will miss him beyond words but who will carry his memory and his love with them always. Though his absence leaves an unimaginable emptiness, his family finds comfort in knowing that he is no longer fighting and is finally at peace with his Savior. His legacy will live on through the people he loved, lessons he taught, and the memories he leaves behind.

Until we meet again, Pops. We love you more than words can say.
