Lamar is preceded in death by his father William Thomas Deel Jr., his mother Nancy Jean Whitley, and his stepmother Mary Alice James. He is survived by his wife Katherine Monroe Deel, four children, Charlotte, Catheryn, Thomas, and James; and nine grandchildren Taylor, Wesley, Julia, Timothy, Chloe, Phoebe, Abel, Noah, and Levi. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and repairing electronics. He enjoyed music and watching football on weekends. He centered his life around family and spending time with loved ones. Much of his free time he spent on his tractor bush hogging the land or tinkering on random things.
His early professional career started in the navy until he was discharged honorably in 1979. He spent some time doing sales before joining a company with his brother in Forest, Ms. He broadened his professional career as an electronics technician for several years before moving on as a mechanic, later doing satellite installations and flooring before retiring.
Lamar was a family man with a unique personality. He would always speak his mind and loved to debate things with those willing to talk. He was never afraid to help someone out through a helping hand or even giving the shirt off his back. He stood by his faith in God and did his best to pass on every lesson he could to better the lives of his children and others.
