Kenneth Mark Dunlap, 54, died peacefully on July 13,2022 at home, surrounded by family and friends. Mark was born on February 11,1968 in Jackson, MS to Kenneth and Marjorie Dunlap.
After graduating from Clinton High School and Mississippi State University, Mark started a career with Mississippi Department of Transportation and was the Division Administrator for the Federal Motor Carriers at the time of his death.
By far, the greatest joy in his life was his family. His wife Denisse and daughter Olivia made him complete as a person. He was always happiest when they were all together. Whether they were traveling the world or just having breakfast on Saturday mornings at Waffle House, they were happy together. His favorite things to do were to pick daffodils with Olivia in the spring, hunting, softball, and fishing in an old john boat (that looked as though it would sink at any moment). Mark was an avid reader, non-fiction only. He was full of odd trivia and had a dry sense of humor that few could match. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, friend and will be greatly missed by so many.
Mark is preceded in death by his father, Ken.
He is survived by his loving wife, Denisse Dunlap; daughter, Olivia Dunlap; mother, Marjorie Dunlap; sister, Martha Dunlap Core; nephew, Ken Warren Core; In-Laws; Omar and Elsa Castellanos; sisters-in-law, Vanessa Rivera (Christian) and Cinthya Castellanos; Brother-in-law, Omar Castellanos (Avy); Uncles, Fred Dunlap (Debbie), Mike Dunlap (Betty), Bobby Dunlap, Jimmy Dunlap (Theresa).
Special thanks to "The Dukes Family" for being our lifelong friends and to all Mark's friends and family that supported him during his cancer battle. He was humbled by the love and support he was shown.
