John Owen Jenkins Jr.

John Owen Jenkins Jr., 87, passed away on Wed. Aug. 13, 2025, in Brandon, MS. Visitation will be held on Mon. Aug. 18, 2025, from 10am-11am at Oakdale Baptist Church in Brandon, MS. Funeral services are 11am on Mon. Aug. 18, 2025, at Oakdale Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Oakdale Cemetery in Brandon, MS.

Mr. Jenkins was born on July 13, 1938, in Jackson, MS to the late John D. Jenkins Sr. and Pearl Estelle Carmichael Jenkins. He was a member and a Deacon at Oakdale Baptist Church in Brandon, MS and the Gideons. Mr. Jenkins was a graduate of MS State University, served in the U.S. Army Reserve and was self-employed as an accountant. He enjoyed fishing and being a youth baseball coach.

Mr. Jenkins is survived by his wife of 62 years, Carolyn “Ginger” Jenkins; two sons, J. Michael Jenkins (Janie), Jeffrey C. Jenkins (Fonda) and three grandchildren, Haley Jenkins M.D., Cade Jenkins (Emma) and Ryan Jenkins.
