Tom Corcoran

Tom Corcoran (89), of Brandon, passed peacefully away on Tuesday, November 21, 2023.

Born John Thomas Corcoran in Chicago, IL to the late John and Margaret Corcoran on August 11, 1934. Tom attended Kilroe College of the Sacred Heart and Assumption College. He held positions in the ministry, as a teacher and as a social worker before taking on a role at the MS Department of Human Services until his retirement in 1999.  He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church.

A devout catholic, Tom was a friend to many, loving father, grandfather and brother. He enjoyed time with oved ones and friends (especially his partners in crime, Margaret and June), parish activities at his church and daily walks with Bendie, his canine companion.

Tom is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers: Jim Corcoran, Joe Corcoran and Kevin Corcoran, and his sisters: Margie Hedman and Nancy Fudacz. He is survived by his brothers Jack Corcoran, Jerry Corcoran and Rich Corcoran, his sisters Denise Walsh and Mary Lou Rasmussen; his son John (Kandance) Corcoran, his daughter Amy (Tony) Walden, and his sons Chris (Estrella) Barnette and Steven (Amy) Hill; his grandchildren Gracie Corcoran, Korbin Stevenson-Corcoran, Amber King, Angela (Shelby) Sasser and Anthony Walden; his great-grandchildren Ellie King and Landry Sasser.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 27, 2023, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, at St. Jude Catholic Church in Pearl, MS. A Rosary will immediately follow.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at 10:00 am, at St. Jude Catholic Church in Pearl, MS with rite of committal and burial following at Brandon Memory Gardens Cemetery.
