Joey Summers

Joey Lee Summers, 33, of Rankin County, MS, born Feb. 1, 1990 at UMMC Hospital in Jackson, MS to Billy Lee Summers and Sally L. Summers has gone to be with our Lord on Feb. 27, 2023. Joey was a good, loving and caring person. Always willing to help anyone he could. Joey was a great son, he loved to laugh, joke and just be happy.

Joey was a hard worker at any trade, smarter than he thought he was, building steel buildings, auto body, auto mechanics, welding, trim carpentry and cabinetry. He had many skills and enjoyed working.

Our family will forever miss Joey and the joy he brought to our lives. He will always be remembered as a loving son, father, brother and friend. Joey will always live through his family.

Joey is survived by his father, Billy Lee Summers (Barbara); mother, Sally L. Foster (James); wife, Christen M. Summers; children, Sofie Jewell Summers, Daisy Ann Summers and Lyla Jane Summers; grandmothers, Janice Summers and Mavis Bright; brothers, Casey L. Summers (Erika) and Corey A. Summers (Noami); sisters, Ashley M. Summers, Emily R. Manuel (Keith), Kathrine B. Hewitt (Jerry), Jyssie Parkman, and Victoria H. Overbay (Russell). Joey is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.

Services will be held at 2pm on Sat. March 4, 2023 at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Brandon, MS with Bro. Wayne Redden officiating the services. Visitation will be held on Sat. March 4, 2023 from 10am-1:45pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Graveside services will follow at Wesleyanna Cemetery in Florence, MS.
