Joel was born on Jan. 3, 1974 in Monroe, LA to Benjamin Wayne Banks and Glenda Griffin Banks. He was a member of Brandon Baptist Church in Brandon, MS.
Joel was Angie’s saving grace from the first time SHE asked him out. He was put on this earth to be Angie’s soulmate and the absolute best father to Cameron, Griffin, and Leighton. He was the only baby boy to his mother, best friend and running buddy to his father, and his sister’s lifelong rock and confidante. Joel loved and cared for his nieces and nephews like they were his own, and he was a loyal friend to many.
He spent most of his time at Mississippi Trophy and Banks Farms. But when he did get a moment of free time, he enjoyed hiking, camping, and telling bad dad jokes. But most of all, he loved sitting in the kitchen with his family, jamming to his music while planning their next adventure.
Joel is survived by his wife, Angie Banks; three children, Cameron Taylor Banks, Griffin Bailey Banks and Leighton Ryan Banks; parents, Ben & Glenda Banks; sister, Molly Burkhalter (Mark); brother in law, Chad Tadlock (Sam); nieces, Sydney Ponder (Rustin), Emma Burkhalter; nephews, Ben Burkhalter, Luke Tadlock, Reagan Tadlock and Reid Tadlock; mother in law, Brenda Tadlock; father in law, Joe Tadlock and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
