Joe Chapman

Joe E. Chapman, 72, passed away on Thurs. Oct. 6, 2022 at his home in Pelahatchie, MS. Visitation will be held on Sun. Oct. 9, 2022 from 2pm-2:45pm at Christ Congregational Church in Johns, MS. Funeral Services are 3pm on Sun. Oct. 9, 2022 at Christ Congregational Church in Johns, MS. Mr. Chapman will be the 4th generation to be buried at Johns Cemetery following the services. Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS is handling arrangements.

Mr. Chapman was a lifelong resident of Rankin County, MS. He was a member of the United Pentecostal Church. Mr. Chapman was an avid musician and travelled all over the Eastern United States playing music. He loved old cars and motorcycles and was a pretty good mechanic. Mr. Chapman was an insurance appraiser for over 40 years owning his own business and was still currently working. Most of all, Mr. Chapman was always willing to help anyone that was in need.

He is survived by his wife, Connie S. Capps Chapman; daughter, Jana Chapman; grandchild, Tyler Stringer (Bailey), his brother, Jerry Chapman (Diane) and his nieces, nephews and other relatives. He is preceded in death by his parents, Auburn C. Chapman and Willie Scott McDonald Chapman.
