Jimmy Stroud

Jimmy G. Stroud, age 83 and a resident of  Lake, died Monday, February 6, 2023, following an extended illness.

He was born on January 21, 1940, to his parents, Howard Stroud and Margarette McDill Stroud in Scott County.  He was a of  a member of Salem Baptist Church.  Mr. Stroud was an Educator,. retiring from the  Oktibbeha County Schools.  He had a passion for helping young people, especially those he worked with through the school system.  He loved his family and  enjoyed being around people.

Mr. Stroud was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary E. Stroud, and a daughter, Lisa Channell,  brother Doyce Stroud, and wife Peggy Stroud of Philadelphia, MS, and brother Sammy Stroud and wife Renee Stroud of Lake, MS.

He is survived by his children, James Stanley Stroud, Melissa Dunn (Todd) all of Sturgis, MS.,  and David Stroud (Mandy) of Lake, brother Carlton Stroud (Vickie), and 8 grandchildren.

No services are scheduled at this time but will be announced at a later date.
