Jimmie Hutchison

By God’s grace and through his faith in Jesus Christ, Jimmie Dale Hutchison, Sr. received his eternal reward in Heaven Monday morning, April 24, 2023 at age 84.

Jimmie was born on June 21, 1938 in Newport, Mississippi.  His parents were Charles Clifton Hutchison and Ollie Dickerson Hutchison.

He was a graduate of McAdams High School in 1956 and married his high school sweetheart, Bettie Alice (McCrory) on February 28, 1958.

The couple moved to Jackson in 1958 and he was employed at the Desoto Furniture Manufacturing Company.  He also worked at Mobilecomm for many years and then Unity Communications.  In his retirement years he worked as a security guard at The Orchard in Ridgeland until the age of 82.

Jimmie was a Christian and a member of Crossview Baptist Church in Brandon.  He served as a Deacon at Highland Baptist Church in Jackson and was Chairman of the Deacons at Sunshine Baptist Church in Pearl.

He was an avid supporter of Ole Miss football, baseball and other sports.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five siblings and his wife.

Jimmie is survived by sister Dot Dendy of Kosciusko and brother Danny Hutchison of Brandon, daughters Kathy Weir (Bubba) of Madison, Patty Clarke (Rick) of Clinton and son Jimmie Dale Hutchison, Jr. (Amy) of Roanoke, Texas, six grandchildren Tyler Weir (Kaylyn), Blake Weir (Courtney), Josh Clarke (MariGrace), Jake Clarke, Kailey Lamar (Alex) and Caden Hutchison and five great-grandchildren, Cache Weir, Charlie Weir, Millie Weir, Houston Clarke and Dean Clarke.

Arrangements are being handled at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon.  Visitation will be at 10 am on Wednesday, April 26th with service following at 11 am.  Burial will be 2 pm at Coleman Cemetery in McAdams.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to Crossview Baptist Church or favorite charity.
