Jimmie Elizabeth Carpenter, 81, passed away Wed. July 8, 2015 at the St. Dominic Memorial Hospital in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be held on Fri. July 10, 2015 from 5pm-8pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Graveside Services are 1pm on Sat. July 11, 2015 at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Clarksdale, MS.
Mrs. Carpenter was born on Aug. 3, 1933 in Grenada, MS to the late Richard B. Jones, and Gladys L. Collins Jones. She was a native of Clarksdale, MS, and has been a resident of Pearl, MS since 1998, where she was a member of McLaurin Heights Baptist Church. Mrs. Carpenter retired after 27 years of service as a food service director with Clarksdale Public Schools. She enjoyed spending time with her family, but most of all she loved to spoil her grandchildren.
Mrs. Carpenter is survived by her son, Tim Carpenter (Daphne); two grandchildren, Anna Houston (Joel), and Michael Carpenter; one great-grandchild, Jack Huntlee Houston, and several nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack H. Carpenter; daughter, Betty Dell Carpenter; son, Mike Carpenter; sister, Louise Austin, and two brothers, James Richard Jones, and Wade Jones.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her honor to the charity of your choice.
