Mrs. Vinson was associated with St. Andrews Episcopal School for over 23 years, where she was widely known and loved by all that knew her. An icon at St. Andrews, the school named the Teacher Resource Center on the lower campus in her honor upon her retirement in 1993. Jessie was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Jackson for 41 years.

She and her family built a home in Brandon in 1993 and retired there for 17 years. For the last 16 years Jessie was a member of First Baptist Church in Jackson. She and Richard were members of the Jennings Orr Sunday School Class.

Jessie was preceded in death by her parents, J. B. and Margaret Allbritton of Pinola and later Jackson, MS; a brother, E. C. Allbritton; and a sister, Verna Connolly of Clinton. She is Survived by her husband of sixty years, Richard Vinson; a son, Mark Vinson; and close family friend, Lisa Key of Ridgeland, MS; brother, Claude Allbritton (Aline) of Ridgeland, MS; and sisters, Ann Farr of Prattville, AL, Dell Williams of Jackson, MS, Lynette Ashley of Brandon, MS; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Jessie was a meticulous person that wanted to improve everything around her. She was a devoted Christian lady and a loving wife and mother as well as a friend to those that knew her. She wanted everyone to know Christ as Savior and Lord. She enjoyed bird-watching, going on long scenic rides, and being with her family.

While the family recognizes Jessie’s love for beautiful flowers, they request that memorials be made to St. Andrews School Scholarship Program; to First Baptist Church Reflections Choir, or to Mississippi College Scholarship Fund.
