Jerry Andrew Vaughn

June 18, 1946 — April 12, 2022

Brandon

At age 75, Jerry met his heavenly Father on April 12, 2022. His final days were spent surrounded by loved ones. Jerry had touched each one in many ways throughout his very memorable life. Funeral Services are 10 am Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon with at 3 pm graveside at Boggan Cemetery in Olive Branch. Visitation will be from 8:30 am until 9:45 am at the funeral home. Rev. Cliff Hardin, Rev. Michelle Goodloe will officiate.  Other speakers include Doug Gober, and Jeromye Sartain.

Jerry had an unwavering faith in God, and was active in church activities while his health allowed. Throughout the years, he has been a member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church of Jackson, Ridgecrest Baptist Church, and Broadmoor Baptist Church. He was always laughing, full of excitement and fun. He taught his children the power of prayer along with the importance of hard work and dedication. He encouraged them to follow their dreams, and gave his unwavering support to any sport, activity, educational tract, or business pursuit they engaged in, to help see those dreams realized. Whether it was coaching a girl’s basketball team, running the scoreboard for their school’s sporting events, or announcing play by play at football games, he was his children’s biggest supporter over the years. He proudly worked at Batesville Casket Company for over 40 years until his passing. Jerry considered his Batesville clients family, and made many lifelong friends over the years through his business associations. Jerry was also a veteran who served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War.

Jerry enjoyed entertaining family and friends for holidays and parties, proudly serving his perfected barbecue recipes and desserts. He loved having family together to enjoy a great meal, celebrate special occasions, tell stories, play games, and spend time with those he loved. He also loved traveling with friends and family. He enjoyed spending time at the beach with his children and grandchildren, judging BBQ contests, going on cruises, and attending Batesville sales club trips. Jerry was a huge fan of his Alma Mater, The University of Alabama. He loved spending Saturdays in the Fall watching the Crimson Tide on television. Roll Tide!

To sum it up, Jerry was larger than life. He made a lasting impression on everyone he met, and could bring a smile to the face of a perfect stranger in an instance. He was loved by many, and will truly be missed.
