Jerry Michael Harvey, born on November 27, 1974, in Jackson, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2026, in Pelahatchie, Mississippi. He lived a life filled with service, family, and a variety of interests that brought joy to those around him.
Michael served his country in the United States Army, where he specialized in communications. Following his military service, he transitioned to a successful career in telecommunications through multiple employers with Entrust Solutions Group being his last. His dedication to his work reflected his commitment to supporting and connecting people.
He attended McLaurin Schools in Rankin County. Throughout his life, he remained passionate about learning and sharing knowledge with others. He taught Taekwondo at Fusion Martial Arts in Pelahatchie, Mississippi, imparting discipline and skills to his students until his health began to decline.
Michael had a vibrant personality and enjoyed various hobbies. He loved riding his motorcycle and spent many hours working in his yard, tinkering with different projects. He had a particular fondness for science fiction movies and was an avid fan of Star Trek.
He leaves behind a loving family. Michael is survived by his wife of 18 years, Susan Harvey; his children, Jacob Harvey, Ella Harvey, Michelle H. Bowles (Nicholas), Jennifer Harvey, Alecia Harvey, and Michael Alexander Harvey. He also cherished his stepmother, Ann Harvey; his siblings, James Suthoff (Tina), Christina Harvey Strickland (Stephanie), Jo Ann Suthoff, and Lynn Simmons (Chip); and three grandchildren - Cailey Bryant, Cara Bryant, and Mia Bryant. Michael is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Wayne Harvey; his mother, Patrician Ann Langley Harvey; and his grandparents, Ray Langley and Etta Langley, as well as Woodrow Wilson Harvey and Ella Marie Sullivan Harvey.
Michael will be remembered for his service, his commitment to family, and his zest for life. He touched the hearts of many and will be greatly missed.
Visitation services will be held at Pelahatchie Baptist Church on Thursday, February 19, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, followed by a funeral service starting at 5:00 PM. A second visitation will take place at West Shady Grove Baptist Church in Waynesboro on Friday, February 20, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, leading to a graveside service at 2:00 PM.
