Jeff Luke McNeece, a cherished son, devoted husband, loving father, and adoring grandfather, left this world on May 23, 2025, after bravely fighting a hard battle with cancer. He was born on June 21, 1968, and his life was marked by his boundless love for family, unwavering commitment to service, and his generous spirit.
Throughout his life, Jeff was known for his passion for deer hunting, fishing, and tinkering on vehicles. These pastimes brought him joy and allowed him to connect with nature and those he loved. As a proud Master Mason, he was affiliated with Puckett Lodge #621 and Willis Lodge #92, where he forged lifelong friendships and dedicated himself to the principles of brotherhood and community service.
Jeff's career was defined by his commitment to public service. He graduated from the Police Academy and became the Chief of Police at Polkville, where he played a pivotal role in establishing the department. He also served with honor in the Scott County Sheriff’s Department and the City of Forest Police Department . His tenure as a member of the Polkville Volunteer Fire Department showcased his courage and willingness to help others in their times of need.
Those who had the privilege to know Jeff were often touched by his enormous heart. He was a man who wore his emotions openly, never hesitating to express his love and support for others. His family was his everything, and his grandchildren. He lovingly referred to his children with nicknames, Holley as Baby Girl, Aubrey as Tootie and Brittney as Britt, which held a special place in his heart.
Jeff is survived by his beloved wife, Connie McNeece; his mother, Bobbie Dale Lowe Simmons (Dave) of Baxterville; his children, Holley Goodman (Tyler) of Pelahatchie, Aubrey Dilmore of Cooperville, and Brittney Smith of Cooperville; and his sister, Lisa McNeece Lambert of Baxterville. His legacy continues through his adored grandchildren, Luke and Lindsey (Princess Izzy) Goodman, Jayton Smith (Mater) and Leelyn Smith, who will carry forward his spirit and love.
He is also lovingly remembered by 2 special sisters to Connie, Diana Grimsley of Kaufman, TX, and Jenny Phillips Hernandez of Grand Saline Texas; brothers-in-law, Paul and Tina Heggins, and Fred and Rhonda Heggins. His extended family includes sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Brenda and Mike Means, Keith and Glenda Phillips, and his mother-in-law, Maudene Heggins. Jeff leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who were touched by his warmth and generosity.
In his passing, Jeff reunites with his father, James (Jimmy Mac) Wilbur McNeece, and his father-in-law, Freddie Heggins,; mother-in-law, Joyce Andrews along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who surely await him with open arms.
Jeff Luke McNeece’s zest for life, deep commitment to his community, and an unrelenting love for his family will be profoundly missed. His spirit will continue to shine through the lives of all who knew him, reminding us that a life filled with love and service is the most precious legacy of all.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Goodman, Fred Heggins, Paul Heggins, Leelyn Smith, Johnathan Means, Brian Means, Keith Phillips, Derek Freeny, Charlie Purvis, Chris Means, Mike Means and Norman Young.
Honorary pallbearers will be, Lindsey (Princess Izzy) Goodman, Luke Goodman, Jaylon Smith, Potter Purvis, Dwayne Phillips, Rodney Lingle and Uncle Jerry McNeece.
In Lieu of flowers, family is asking that donations please be made to Ott and Lee Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses. They can be made by phone 601-732-6571 or brought to any Ott and Lee location.
