Jason Watkins, 42, of Brandon passed away far too soon on August 20th, 2025 while working in Indianola, MS.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 25th from 10-11am at Ott and Lee of Forest, followed by a funeral service at 11 in the chapel to be officiated by Bro. Bo Rice, and a graveside service at Dennis Cemetery in Lake.
Jason was born on March 9th, 1983 in Fairfax County, VA to Stephen Watkins and Sandra Dennis. He attended high school at Lake and Sebastopol, where he played football. He went on to graduate in 2001 from Sebastopol. After high school, Jason served his country in the US Army from 2003-2007 as a combat medic in Afghanistan. Once separated from the Army, Jason went on to earn his bachelor's degree in Anthropology. He was employed as an Archeologist at the time of his death with Talon Services. He spent his free time travelling and was fascinated by history and genealogy.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bud and Minnie Dennis. Jason leaves behind his parents, Stephen Watkins (Dianne), and Sandra "Sally" Dennis Hare, and one brother, Eric Watkins.
Jason was a special person and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Gary Hare, Gilbert Brown, Todd Smith, and David Chamblee.
